SOLD NOVEMBER 2022 – Excellent C. 57. 4 Acre Residential Holding For Sale By Public & Online Auction On Tuesday 8th of November At 2pm (In 1 or 2 Lots) In The Amber Springs Hotel

More than 57 acres went under the hammer at today’s auction

Today’s auction was highly anticipated due to the size of the holding coming to the market. Furthermore, this is in an area of productive farming as well as an appealing coastal area associated with a range of popular tourist destinations. Auctioneer David Quinn was guiding the property between €10,000 and €12,000 per acre.

There was a full auction room at the Amber Springs Hotel who were joined by several online bidders. The property was offered in the following Lots:

Lot 1: Farmhouse and Outbuildings and yard On 33.165 Acres
Lot 2: 24.214 Acres
Lot 3: The Entire

Lot 1 commenced at €300,000 and with activity from several online bids reached €400,000. Lot 2 opened at €200,000 and again online bidders proved to be more active. The 24.2 acres reached €300,000 after initial bidding, leading to a total of €700,000 for both lots.

Bids in excess of €700,000 were then sought for Lot 3 (the entire). The auction floor burst into life with two quick bids of €720,000 and then €740,000. The auctioneer then returned to Lots 1 and 2 but with no further offers forthcoming, Lots 1 and 2 were withdrawn.

With the holding now certain to sell in a single lot, rapid bidding ensued when David sought additional bids on Lot 3. The c. 57 acres swiftly moved past the €800,000 and then the €900,000 mark before reaching €920,000. After calling a break to take client instructions, Mr Quinn declared the property “on the market and here to be sold”. After several warnings to the room, there were to be no more bids and the hammer fell at €920,000.

Speaking after the auction, David Quinn remarked on the “continued strong demand for agricultural land in the North Wexford area”. The price per acre achieved equates to in excess of €16,000/ac.
