Today’s auction had attracted a great deal of interest since its launch. Its attractive price, country setting and close proximity to Ferns led to a busy schedule of viewings and resulted in more than ten bidders registering. The property was guided at €55,000.
On the day of the auction, Newtown received an opening bid of €40,000. With active bidding from four parties it had exceeded the guide price in less than a minute. Prompt bidding continued as far as €90,000 at which point auctioneer David Quinn took client instructions. Upon his return, the property was declared ‘on the market’ and with no further bids, the hammer fell at €90,000.
Speaking after the auction, David Quinn declared the price achieved “a great success” and wished the purchaser well with the property. David also noted a number of similar properties currently available for sale through QUINN PROPERTY such as Tomsallagh, Ferns and Limerick Road, Camolin.
