SOLD APRIL 2024 – Valuable C. 19 Acre Non Residential Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Friday 19th of April At 12 Noon

Today’s auction saw an extremely well located parcel of land come to the market. Situated in the heart of Foulksmills, this property offers great potential to its new owners.

The land is in one division, currently in grass and of excellent quality with the benefit of a natural water course . Given its prime village location, part of the lands may have development potential S.T.P.P.

Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property between €12,000 – €15,000 per acre and noted “strong local interest” in the holding. David added that there were “eight registered bidders for the property”.

On the day of the auction, bidding began at €190,000 and gradually moved towards €300,000. However, the pace of bidding began to increase as the auction progressed. Mr Quinn called for a quick break to take client instructions with bidding at €380,000 (€20,000 per acre).

Upon his return to the auction room, Mr Quinn declared the property as “on the market and here to be sold”. The already brisk pace of bidding further increased as the property pushed past €400,000, €450,000 and finally €5000,000. Ultimately, the hammer fell at €530,000 (approx. €27,900 per acre) to a local farmer.

Speaking after the auction, auctioneer David Quinn described “a genuinely phenomenal result, beyond all expectations”. David added that there was “three active bidders, all of whom were highly motivated to secure this property”. David finished by describing market conditions as “buoyant”.
