SOLD SEPTEMBER 2019 – C. 20 Acres Of Exceptional Land (In Two Lots) For Sale By Public Auction On Friday 27th September 2019 At 3pm In The Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
Our final auction of September drew a crowd of approximately thirty people to the Riverside Park hotel. The lots were offered to the market in two separate lots described as follows:
Lot 1: Extends to c. 14 acres. This land is laid out in three separate fields, currently in grass and of excellent quality. Lot 1 was guided at €140,000 (€10,000 per acre) prior to auction.
Bidding for Lot 1 opened at €100,000 and moved briskly to €180,000 with the help of three bidders. At this point the property was declared on the market. Following the entry of two new bidders, Lot 1 was sold at €240,000 (€17,143 per acre) to a local farmer.
Lot 2: C. 5.3 acres in one field, currently in grass and of excellent quality. Lot 2 was guided at €40,000 (€8,000 per acre) before auction.
Bidding on Lot 2 commenced at €30,000 and was declared on the market at €72,000. Lot 2 went under the hammer at €76,000 (€14,340 per acre) to a local individual with equestrian interests.
After proceedings, auctioneer David Quinn remarked how the land had “achieved a particularly strong price considering neither Lot had any road frontage”. David also referred to the significant amount of disappointed underbidders who remain in need of similar properties.
