SOLD JUNE 2022 -Valuable C. 62.7 Acre Roadside Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday The 8th June At 3pm (In 1 Or 2 Lots)
Today’s auction saw a substantial C. 62.7 acre holding near Tinahely come to the market. Auctioneer David Quinn noted strong interest in advance of the sale, particularly from local farmers. However, he added that there was interest from as far west as Tullow and as far as Gorey to the east.
The property was offered in the following lots:
Lot 1: circa 20.5ac; Lot 2: circa 42.2 ac; and Lot 3: the entire
After several rounds of bidding, Lot 3 (the entire) was at €900,000 and Lots 1 and 2 were at a total of €930,000. Following this Lot 3 was withdrawn and Lots 1 and 2 were placed on the market at €410,000 and €520,000 respectively.
There were no further bids on Lot 1 which was sold to a local farmer at a price of €20,000 per acre. After a flurry of further bids of Lot 2 it was sold to a local diary farmer at €570,000 (€13,500 per acre). A combined price equates to a total of €980,000 (€15,630 per acre).
Speaking after the auction, David Quinn described the result as “an extremely strong price for land in south Co. Wicklow”. David also noted that there are “several disappointed under bidders”. To view the full listing of Ballyrahan, please click here.
