SOLD MAY 2026 – C. 61.8 Acre Roadside Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday 20th May At 12 Noon

Wednesday’s auction saw a substantial roadside holding, located in the heart of County Wicklow come to the market. The lands are situated in a highly scenic location at the edge of the Wicklow mountains, close to the Wicklow Way and Lugnaquilla. The holding offers C. 61.8 acres of hill land, which is divided in C. 40 acres of good quality pasture ground and rough grazing with C. 22 acres of forestry which was planted 21 years ago, comprising of mainly sitka spruce. For subsidies or farm payments, the lands are located in a designated disadvantaged area.

Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the lands in the region of €350,000 and noted “good local interest” in the run up to the auction. Mr Quinn added that four bidders had registered to participate in the auction.

On the day of the auction, bidding peaked at €300,000 and with the property still short of its reserve, the property was withdrawn. Negotiations immediately commenced with the highest bidder and the property was sold “for a figure in the region of the guide price”.

Speaking after concluding negotiations, Mr Quinn shared that he was “very satisfied to have sold the property on the day of the auction”. The purchaser was identified as being “in the forestry sector”.
