SOLD NOVEMBER 2024 – Valuable C. 30.5 Acre Roadside Holding At Toberpatrick, Tinahely, Co. Wicklow For Sale By Online Auction on Friday 22nd November 2024 at 12 Noon

Today’s auction saw a fine parcel of land with excellent road frontage come to the market. The property is laid out in one block and would be most suited for grassland or forestry production. The property was guided at €200,000 (€6,550 per acre approx.). Auctioneer David Quinn described “exceptional interest” in this property with “in excess of ten registered bidders.” David added that “interest levels had certainly exceeded expectations” which boded well for the auction.

On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €100,000 with prompt bidding from the start. With bidding passing €200,000 at ease a break was called to take client instructions with €250,000 on the table. Upon returning to the auction room, the lands at Toberpatrick were placed “on the market” and further bids were invited. This invitation was instantly accepted as the pace of bidding accelerated past €275,000.

Two bidders went ‘hammer and tongs’ to secure the property beyond this point. Following seven further bids, he hammer ultimately fell at €289,000 (€9,475 per acre). Speaking immediately after the auction, David Quinn congratulated the highest bidder and thanked the remaining four bidders for their participation. He added that his clients are “extremely pleased with what is an outstanding result”. The price achieved equates to a 44.5% uplift on the guide price.
