SOLD JUNE 2025 – Excellent C. 38.7 Acre Roadside Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday 11th June 2025 At 12 Noon (In One Or Two Lots)
The lands have good road frontage, are generally of good quality and is all currently in grass. There is the benefit of a derelict stone-built cottage and a shed on the lands. Given its road frontage and the derelict cottage on site, this may have potential for a dwelling house subject to relevant permission being sought.
Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property between €12,000 and €15,000 per acre and noted “keen interest”, particularly from local landowners. Mr Quinn added that this translated into more than five registered bidders for the auction. To view the full property listing, please click here.
The property was offered in the following lots:
Lot 1: C. 26.2 Acres With Derelict Stone Built Cottage And Shed
Lot 2: 12.5 Acres
Lot 3: The Entire
On the day of the auction, Lots 1 and 2 combined for a total of €500,00 after the opening round of bidding. Robust bidding on the entire (Lot 3) saw it climb as far as €580,000. There was further bidding on the two separate lots but not enough to catch up with the entire. This resulted in Lots 1 and 2 being withdraw with a total bid of €550,000.
Attention then returned to Lot 3, which the auctioneer described as being “a little short of its reserve”. However, with no further bids forthcoming the property was withdrawn at €580,000 (c. €15,000 per acre) and negotiations commenced with the highest bidder.
QUINN PROPERTY are delighted to report than following extensive negotiations, the property was sold for a higher sum. Auctioneer David Quinn said that he was “very pleased to have secured a strong result” but did not disclose the exact price achieved. When asked for details on the purchaser, Mr Quinn identified them as a “local farmer”.
