A prime site in the centre of one of Wexford’s most popular seaside villages is set to go under the hammer in the coming weeks in two lots with a combined guide price of around €130,000.
The site is located right in the centre of Blackwater village, close to the main junction, with frontage onto the main street and two access points opposite the local foodstore and coffee shop.
Coastal properties in Wexford have fetched incredible prices in recent times and given this site’s proximity to Ballyconnigar, Ballinesker and Curracloe beaches, auctioneers Quinn Property are confident that it will generate significant interest when it goes under the hammer on June 8.
The site is being offered in two lots. Lot 1 formerly operated as a garage and, most recently, an ‘upcycling’ shop. A concrete block building with a galvanised roof, it’s described as having “enormous potential for a number of commercial uses” owning to its strategic location in the village centre. It comes with approximately 0.13 acres and carries a guide price of €20,000 to €30,000.
Lot 2 consists of around 1.35 acres and runs parallel with the River Blackwater with a separate entrance to Lot 1. This land is being offered with a rough guide of €80,000 to €100,000 and is described by the auctioneer as having “ample development opportunities, subject to planning permission”.
Of course, when the bidding commences, there will be the opportunity to combine both lots and purchase the whole site outright. The online auction takes place on June 8 at 1 p.m.
