SOLD MAY 2026 – Valuable C. 14 Acre Roadside Holding for sale by Online Auction on Wednesday, 27th May At 2pm
Today’s auction was widely anticipated from the moment it was first advertised according to selling agent David Quinn. The lands have good road frontage and are laid out in four divisions. They have not been intensively farmed in recent times and the land is in need of drainage and improvement works. However, they are located in an area of excellent quality grassland. The full listing can be viewed here.
Mr Quinn had guided the lands in the region of €10,000 per acre and remarked that the strong level of interest in the property translated into “thirteen registered bidders”.
On the day of the auction bidding began at €100,000 but moved rapidly past €200,000 and then €300,000 with seven active bidders. A short break was called at €320,000 and upon his return to the auction room, Mr Quinn confirmed that the property was on the market. However, the battle to secure this well-located holding continued for some time. With the hammer up at €395,000 a bid of €400,000 arrived just in time. One further bid was enough to secure the property for an astonishing result – €405,000 (c. €28,900 per acre).

Speaking immediately after the auction, Mr Quinn shared that his client was “over the moon with the price achieved”. He added that the price per acre is “well above average values for land requiring improvement works” and “close to top agricultural prices”. When asked for details of the purchaser, the auctioneer identified them as “a County Wexford based business”.
