Valuable C. 34 Acre Holding For Sale by Online Auction On Wednesday 17th of September at 12 Noon
Today’s auction saw c. 34 acres of good quality grassland come the market. The lands are laid out in a number of well-defined divisions and would be suitable for a range of agricultural uses.
Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property in the region of €8,000 per acre and noted “solid interest in the property, particularly from local landowners”. Mr Quinn advised that this “translated into three registered bidders in advance of the auction”.
On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €230,000 and promptly continued past €250,000. A break was called to take client instructions with the bidding at €270,000. Upon his return to the auction room, the auctioneer announced that the property was “still short of its reserve” and invited further offers.
This invitation quickly resulted in bids of €275,000 and €280,000 however with the property still short of its reserve the property was withdrawn and negotiations commenced with the highest bidder.
Negotiations with the highest bidder did not result in a deal so the property is now available to purchase by private treaty.
