This week’s auction of Lodgewood attracted an attendance of approximately thirty people to our Carnew office.
The land is in one division with good road frontage, free draining soil and is currently in tillage but suitable for any agricultural use. Given its road frontage and location it may be suitable for a residential site. The property was guided at €85,000 (€12,143 per acre).
A bid of €70,000 got proceedings underway and through the activity of four bidders the property was declared on the market at €110,000. Following this, a further bidder entered the fray. Ultimately, the hammer fell at €132,000 (€18,857 per acre) with a neighbouring farmer making the highest bid.

Speaking after the auction, David Quinn described how “this sale highlights the strength of the land market, particularly for smaller parcels.” He also noted the “strong demand for similar properties in the North Wexford area.
