Today’s auction saw an extremely well-located parcel of land come to the market. Auctioneer David Quinn guided the property at €120,000 and had “between five and ten bidders registered to bid”. While the lands are not zoned, their location mean that they may have development potential in future.
On the day of the auction bidding began at €80,000 and continued swiftly in increments of €10,000. With eleven further bids, the property had settled at €190,000 and the auctioneer announced a brief break to take client instructions. After returning to the auction room, David decalred the property as “on the market and here to be sold”. With no further bids, the hammer fell at €190,000 or approx. €25,000 per ace.
When asked for a comment after the auction, David noted that “there were three active bidders on the day and all were local”. He added that ” €25,000 per acre is a strong price for what is currently agricultural land”.
