It is in one division, currently in grass and of generally good quality. The land has free draining soil type suited to both grass land and tillage. The holding has the benefit of a natural water course along the southern boundary.
In terms of location, the property benefits from close proximity to Ballyhogue (3km), Enniscorthy (12km) and Wexford (12km). In advance of the auction, the auctioneer had guided the property in the region of €145,000 (C. €10,000 per acre). Approximately 10 parties were registered to bid.
On the day of the auction bidding commenced at €80,000 and with the help of four bidders quickly rose to €185,000. After consulting with the vendors, the property was declared ‘on the market’. Following this, one additional bid of €190,000 secured the property.
Speaking after the auction, auctioneer David Quinn said he was “very pleased with the result. The price achieved equated to more than €13,000 per acre which is a great price for this property.”
