SOLD SEPTEMBER 2023 – Derelict Residence On C. 0.4 Acre Site For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday 13th September At 12 Noon
Wednesday’s auction saw a small dwelling at Killisk, The Ballagh, Co. Wexford offered to the market. The residence sits on a c. 0.4 acre site and is in need of complete restoration. According to Jack Quinn of QUINN PROPERTY, “there was significant interest in this property from far and wide”. “We typically count on a certain level of local interest for similar properties but in this case there was clearly a wider appeal”. On the day of the auction, bidding commenced at €30,000 and quickly jumped to €50,000. Further bidding brought bidding to €60,000 at which point a break was called to consult with the vendor. Upon the resumption of the auction, the property was declared ‘on the market’. Ultimately the hammer fell at €65,000.
Speaking after the auction, Jack hailed “a strong result, well above the guide price”. The purchaser was identified as being “Ulster based”. Jack added that “with significant demand for derelict properties, we encourage owners of similar properties to talk to us today”.
