Selling agent Jack Quinn had guided the property in the region of €175,000 and noted “a great deal of interest throughout the marketing period”. Mr Quinn added that “four parties registered to bid at the auction”.
On the day of the auction, bidding opened at €120,000 and steadily moved to €150,000 with two bidders. The pace of bidding increased with the entrance of a new bidder, bringing the property up to €200,000.

The property was declared to be “on the market” at €210,000 which prompted a fourth bidder to enter the race to secure Holly Lodge. The hammer fell shortly afterwards at €219,000, a very strong result.
When asked for details regarding the purchaser, Mr Quinn stated that it was “a solicitor acting in trust”. He added his “well-wishes to the purchaser” and thanked “all four registered bidders for their participation in what was a lively auction.”
