Selling agent Jack Quinn conducted a busy marketing campaign over the past number weeks and fielded enquiries “from across the country and abroad”. Mr Quinn added that he was” encouraged by the level of viewing activity on the run up to the auction” which translated into seven registered bidders.

On the day of the auction bidding opened at €640,000 and briskly moved past €700,000 with the help of three bidders. A fourth bidder became active thereafter as bidding reached €740,000.

Following a short break to take client instructions, the auctioneer informed all that the property was still short of its reserve – which immediately reignited bidding.

Rapid bidding saw the property continue as far as €790,000 at which point it was put on the market. Two further bids were enough to secure the property as the hammer fell at €800,000 to a Dublin based businessperson.
