Today’s auction saw a three bedroom property ‘within a stone’s throw’ of the Main Street brought to the market. Added to its central location, the property offers a spacious 0.2 acre site with development potential. The property was guided at €260,000 and had “attracted strong interest since its launch” according to property consultant Jack Quinn.
Jack added that “interest came from several buyer types, including those seeking to downsize and re-locate to the town while others had an eye on the development potential of the site. Although the property has been used as a dwelling until recent times, there are several precedents for its conversion to commercial/office space.”
The auction commenced with an opening bid of €230,000 and with prompt bidding, €300,000 was soon reached. After three further bids, the property stood at €330,000 and a break was called to take client instructions.
Upon resumption of the auction, the property was declared “on the market” and further bids were invited. Without delay, an offer of €335,000 was made and after four addition bids the hammer fell at €352,000.
After the auction, Jack stated that “our client was delighted with the result, which exceeded all expectations.” He added that “there were five registered bidders, with three active on the day”.
