SOLD APRIL 2026 – Valuable C. 18 Acre Roadside Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday 22nd April At 12 Noon (In Lots)

Today’s auction saw c. 18 acres of land in a most sought-after North Wexford location come to to the market. The lands were offered in two nearby lots, both of which are in grass and benefit from good road frontage. Lot 2 has the added benefits of a natural water course and a derelict residence and yard.

Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the lands between €12,000 and €15,000 per acre and noted “plenty of interest” since the property was first advertised. Mr Quinn shared that “more than ten parties had registered to bid”.

The lands were offered in the following Lots:

Lot 1: C. 10.4 Acres ; Lot 2: C. 7.8 Acres

On the day of the auction Lot 1 opened at €100,000 and moved briskly in €10,000 bids all the way to €150,000. Bidding continued in increments of €5,000 up to €205,000 – at which point it was placed “on the market”. There was steady bidding from this point as the hammer eventually fell at €213,000 ( c. €20,500 per acre)

Lot 2 opened at €80,000 and reached €105,000 after the first round of bidding with four active bidders. Bidding continued in increments of €5,000 up to €130,000, at which point the property was declared to be “on the market”. The pace of bidding increased and a new bidder entered the race at €150,000. Bidding continued in a prompt fashion, now in increments of €2,000 beyond the €190,000 mark. With two bidders now all that remained, the hammer ultimately fell at €196,000 (c. €25,130 per acre).

Speaking immediately after the auction, David Quinn hailed yet another “superb result at auction where the lands averaged close to €23,000 per acre”. Mr Quinn added that this clients were “very impressed with the outcome” and wished both purchasers well. The total price achieved at the auction equates to €409,000, far above typical land values in the area.
