A 7.5 acre roadside site close to Ballyoughter Cross in Gorey sold for €142,000 by online auction on Friday, April 12.
Selling at approximately €19,000 per acre, this was more than double the original guide price of €8,000 to €10,000 per acre.
Local farmers and businesspeople expressed significant interest in this land and there was 13 registered bidders on the day.
Bidding opened at €30,000 and past €100,000 very quickly. The auction took a quick break with bidding at €120,000 and when it resumed the property was declared to be on the market. Five more bids were made before the land sold at €142,000.
This land is in two divisions and has extensive frontage onto the public road. The field is currently in grass and is in need of some improvement works but it could be suitable for residential planning, subject to planning permission.
Presented by QUINN PROPERTY, it is located along the Camolin/Ballycanew Road, close to Ballyoughter Cross and within walking distance of the local school and church and only 8km south of Gorey.
