SOLD FEBRUARY 2026 – C. 6.3 Acres In Excellent Location For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday, 25th February At 12 Noon

Today’s auction saw a lovely parcel of land just 2.5km from Camolin come to the market.

The land is of excellent quality, currently in tillage, and laid out in a single, well-defined division with frontage onto a laneway. The holding may offer site potential, subject to planning permission. Notably, the land previously had the honour of producing the Guinness` All-Ireland Malting Barley Growing Championship, highlighting its exceptional agricultural quality.

Auctioneer David Quinn had described strong interest in the holding from a mix of local farmers and businesspeople. Mr Quinn added that “it is rare for small, good quality holdings to come to the market in this area, this has resulted in strong demand for this property”. David had guided the property in the region of €17,000 per acre prior to auction and shared that “approximately 10 parties had registered to bid”.

On the day of the auction, bidding commenced at €60,000 and quickly surged past €150,000. Following a brief pause for client instructions, the auctioneer returned to the room and declared the property as “on the market” at €155,000. This prompted the entry of a new bidder who was one of three bidders to remain in contention as the bidding continued past €180,000. There was late drama in the auction room, with bidding at €188,000 and the hammer about to fall a bid of €190,000 came in just in time. Offers moved forward at pace thereafter, until the hammer finally did fall at €202,000 – an extraordinary result.

Speaking immediately after the auction, David Quinn remarked that his client was “extremely pleased with the outcome of the auction”. He added that “the price achieved equates to over €32,000 per acre, far above typical land values in the area”.
