SOLD OCTOBER 2025 – Valuable C.19.165 Acre Non Residential Holding For Sale By Online Auction On Wednesday, 22nd October At 12 Noon

Today’s auction was hotly anticipated, with “strong demand for land in the South Wicklow / North Wexford area” according to auctioneer David Quinn. Mr Quinn added that this demand is “particularly keen for holdings between 15 and 30 acres”.

The property at Ballingate was guided at €10,000 per acre and there were nine registered bidders in advance of the auction.

On the day of the auction, bidding began at €150,000 and quickly moved passed €200,000 with activity from three bidders. With the property at €205,000 a quick break was called to take client instructions. Upon the resumption of the auction, the auctioneer declared the property as “on the market” and invited further offers.

This prompted “lively bidding” as offers shot up to €250,000 in no time. There was plenty of late drama as the hammer seemed set to fall on multiple occasions before a last minute bid kept the auction going. Ultimately, the hammer did fall at €287,000 (c. €15,000 per acre). The result equates to approx. 50% above the guide price.

Speaking immediately after the auction, David Quinn described the outcome as a “strong result which my client was very satisfied with”. He added that the purchaser is a “local farmer” and wished them well with their purchase.
