Today’s auction featured a property that had attracted solid interest in the lead-up to the sale. Auctioneer David Quinn had guided the property at €12,000 to €15,000 per acre and said there had been “good interest particularly from local farmers.”

On the day, after a number of rounds of bidding the entire reached €1.59 m and the lots went to €1.61m. At this point the lots were put on the market and sold under the hammer for a combined figure of €1,730,000 to two local dairy farmers. Lot 1: C. 74.66 acres, sold at €1,380,000 and Lot 2: C. 17.7 acres sold at €350,000. The price achieved equates to approx. €18,700 per acre – an excellent result.

Speaking after the auction, David Quinn commented on the strong nature of the results and the fact that we have a number of disappointed underbidders looking for land in the area.
