’83-acre Carlow farm tempting value in October online auction’. Irish Examiner. 20/09/23.

The 83-acre property is located in the townland of Knocknagilky, near Hacketstown, Co Carlow.

Gorey-based QUINN PROPERTY is to host a series of online public auctions on October 4, 6 and 11 next, featuring five properties in all located in the counties of Wicklow and Carlow.

The largest of them (and, arguably, the pick of the lot) is an 83-acre property located in the townland of Knocknagilky, near Hacketstown, Co Carlow.

With guide price of between €6,000 and €8,000 per acre, it could represent some tempting value for someone looking for additional acres.

The farm is divided into two lots by the public road. The larger of the two parts contains a derelict farmhouse and a bungalow that was built in the 1970s and which is in need of upgrading. Accommodation includes an entrance hall, sitting room, kitchen, utility room, bathroom and four bedrooms.

There are a number of outbuildings also on this 47-acre lot which, according to the selling agent David Quinn, contains good-quality land laid out in grass, with some wastage on the southern side.

The second lot comprises 36 acres of mixed quality, with good grazing close to the public road but whose wetter acres can be improved.
