Sold April 2019 – Valuable C. 21 Acre (C. 8.5HA) Non Residential Holding For Sale By Public Auction On Wednesday 17th April 2019 At 3pm In Our Gorey Office In Two Lots.
Wednesday’s auction brought two separate holdings located 1km apart and approx. 2km from Blackwater to the market. There was strong local interest in the auction, with almost twenty people in attendance.
Lot 1 was the larger holding, extending to 14.7 acres. It enjoys frontage onto the Blackwater River, providing a year-round natural water supply. The lands were guided at €10,000 per acre. On the day of the auction Lot 1 was withdrawn at €110,000. However, it sold immediately afterwards for a figure in the region of the guide price. The purchaser was an adjoining farmer.
Lot 2 comprises 5.6 acres of land at Ballyconnigar Upper divided into two divisions. Lot 2 was guided at €7,000 per acre. Bidding for Lot 2 peaked at €32,000 at which point it was withdrawn. It was subsequently sold for a price close to the guide to an adjoining farmer.
